Overview

The client was running workloads on legacy on-premises Linux and Windows servers with scalability limitations, requiring migration to AWS for improved availability and ease of management. Aziro provisioned environment-aligned compute instances, performed deep OS-level assessments, and executed a host-based migration approach using rsync, robocopy, and incremental sync cycles. Pre- and post-migration validation through checksum verification and functionality testing ensured near-zero data loss and full application compatibility across the transition.

Aziro Executed Host-Based Migration with Full Validation

Aziro designed a structured migration approach beginning with deep OS-level assessment across Linux and Windows systems, covering installed packages, dependencies, permissions, and system configurations. Environments were recreated in AWS with matching services and networking, followed by host-based data migration and multiple rounds of validation to ensure parity with source systems.

 

  • Environment-Aligned Provisioning: Provisioned compute instances on AWS using Amazon Linux, CentOS, and Windows Server, ensuring alignment with source system architecture and configurations.

 

  • Host-Based Data Migration: Used rsync/scp for Linux and robocopy/backup tools for Windows, preserving ownership, permissions, ACLs, and directory structure.

 

  • Incremental Sync and Validation: Performed full and incremental data sync cycles, followed by checksum verification and pre/post-migration validation across all systems.
